A great thank you to all our hosts and all of their guests in our two weekends of Wistaria Home Theatre in the D.C. area — and to Hillyer Art Space who hosted us for the Capital Fringe Festival. We had a blast visiting your communities and singing with you.
Keep an eye to this page and our Facebook for more photos, some home video, and further news. If these photos peak your interest in hosting Wistaria, drop us a line at email@example.com !
We will present a proscenium version of a sketch of a new segment for Wistaria — called Wistaria, The Gaggery and Gilt — as part of LEIMAY-CAVE’s SOAK Festival on June 7 at 8:30pm and June 8 at 6:00pm. Tickets are limited and available in advance only, here. It’s an interesting challenge for us to create a stand-alone segment of the existing extra-theatrical event for a theatrical presentation, and it should be interesting even for those of you who have seen Wistaria to see this new sequence in this form. We hope to see you there.
We are pleased to announce that Wistaria will perform at Hillyer Art Space in Washington, D.C. on July 18 and 19 as part of the Capital Fringe Festival. In the spirit of the traveling tent theatres that criss-crossed much of the South and Midwest during the 19th and early 20th centuries and following the models of house concerts, we’ll also perform in several homes as part of the ‘tour’. Keep an eye to this page — and our Facebook page — for more details.
Also, if you live in the D.C. area — or have friends or family who do — and might be interested in hosting a small performance in your home, please contact us here.
Wistaria makes its first autumn appearance, returning to The Gershwin Hotel on Saturday, October 19 at 8pm to mark the season. We’re glad to welcome performers lemur onkyokei and Kyra Sims to Wistaria. Come join us, too.
